Types of Building
Hello guys welcome I hope you all are fine and doing well here i will be able to discuss about building and its types.
We can define a Building as any structure for whatsoever purpose and of whatsoever material constructed and in each part thereof whether used as human habitation or not and includes the foundations, plinth, walls, floors, chimney, plumbing and building services ,fixed platform, verandah , balcony cornice or projection, a part of building or anything affixed thereto or any wall enclosing or intended to surround any load or space and sign and outdoor display structures consistent with NATIONAL code of India . Tents, Shamianas, tarpaulin shelters,open space etc. are not include in the definition of building .
As per national code of India , building are classified in to nine groups supported occupancy as follows:
Group A: Residential Building:
These are the buildings which are used for residential purposes and facilitate activities like living, sleeping, cooking. These includes apartments, flat, and family garage etc.
Group B: Educational Building.
These buildings or parts are used for educational purposes like schools, college which are affiliated and recognized by the acceptable board . The building should promote the aggregation of instructional educational and recreational activities concerning educational purposes.
Group C: Institutional Building.
These are the buildings that are constructed by the govt. , semi-government organization or by the registered trust for specific similar purpose like medical treatment purposes, dharamshalas, jails, detention home etc.
Group D: Assembly Building.
These buildings includes drama theaters, cinema , auditorium, exhibition area , museum, town halls ,gymnasium, sports complexes, dance club etc. are categorized as assembly buildings.
Group E: Business Building.
These types of buildings are used for keeping records of business transactions, maintaining account . Building under this category include offices , banks, courthouse, office buildings etc.
Group F: Mercantile Building.
In these building either the whole building , or a neighborhood of it used for housing shops ,stores.
Group G: Industrial Building.
These building are used for the manufacturing, assemble, or process products or materials . These includes manufacturing unit , power plant station , gas plant, laboratories etc.
Group H: Hazardous Building.
These sorts of building are further categorizes in to 2 categories .
Building that are used for manufacturing, processing , or storage of drugs which are highly combustible explosive , radioactive.
Building that are used for manufacturing, processing , or storage of drugs which are highly corrosive, toxic, acids, bases, chemical producing explosive.
Group I: Warehouses Cold Storage.
These buildings (storage buildings) are used for storage purposes. They comprises of building like cold storage, ware house, storage unit, public garages etc.
